  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Tables and Figures

Tables:

  1. Content & Format
    • Tables should be informative, clearly labeled, and designed for easy interpretation.
    • Use consistent formatting: single or double line borders are preferred (avoid vertical lines).
    • Fonts should be Times New Roman or similar, consistent with manuscript, minimum 10-12 pt.
  1. Placement and Submission
    • Tables can appear embedded in the manuscript or submitted as separate files.
    • They must be cited in text in consecutive order (e.g., Table 1, Table 2).
    • Use horizontal lines for clarity between header and data rows.
  1. Table Titles and Captions
    • Titles go above the table (e.g., “Table 1. Mechanical properties of composites”).
    • Provide concise, descriptive titles summarizing the table contents.
    • Avoid overly detailed explanations; additional info belongs in the text.
  1. Numbering and References
    • Number tables sequentially as they appear in the manuscript.

Example Table Description:

Table 1. Mechanical properties of CNT-HA-polymer composites. Values represent mean ± standard deviation (n=5). The addition of functionalized CNTs improved tensile strength while maintaining biocompatibility.

Figures:

  1. Resolution & Format
    • Minimum 300 dpi for images, 1000 dpi for line art.
    • Accepted formats: TIFF, JPEG (high quality), PNG, EPS, PDF.
    • Figures should be submitted as separate files to maintain quality.
  1. Size & Color
    • Fit figures within one or two column widths (≈8 cm or ≈16 cm).
    • Use RGB color mode (online) or CMYK (print preferred).
    • Ensure figures are understandable in grayscale.
  1. Text and Font
    • Use clear, legible fonts such as Arial or Helvetica, minimum 8 pt size.
    • Avoid overlapping or cluttered labels.
  1. Figure Captions
    • Captions appear below the figure.
    • Include figure number and concise descriptive title (e.g., “Figure 1. Microstructure of composite scaffold”).
    • Keep captions self-explanatory but brief.
  1. Ethics and Copyright
    • Get permissions for re-used figures.
    • Acknowledge sources clearly.

Example Figure Description:

Figure 1. Composite scaffold structure integrating CNTs, hydroxyapatite (HA), and natural polymers. SEM imaging shows porous architecture enhancing osteoinductivity. Scale bar = 50 µm.

  • Limit the number of Tables to 5
  • Limit the number of Figures to 5

Formatting Summary

  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Margins: 1 inch all sides
  • Spacing: 1.5 line-spaced (single-space abstract only)
  • Alignment: Justified for body text, Centered for titles/figures
  • Page numbers: Bottom center
  • Paragraph indentation: 0.5-inch first line
  • Headings: Bold, use APA style (Levels 1-3 as needed)
